Another World's Sun
06:23
|
|||
were guided by lights
in a vaccum of sound
wearing our sunday best
the days are all ours
fleeing from a cold blue blast
a dying star
How it all went down man I forget now
How do you love
what you left behind
in the sun
on the next world we get too
oh the grass is greener
the past is sweeter..
were guided by lights
were are getting there now
I think of the things that I'll miss
the quake of her mouth
they're never gonna call us again
it's the last broadcast
a sentence of life for those who got out
but we will carry on
this choir of swan song
in the sun
on the next world we get too
oh the grass is greener
the past is sweeter..

Memory Day
05:09
|
|||
Caught in a let down
wanna lay you open
she dont wanna talk
your coming up short for all you can
"I want a baby"
an echo listens for itself
comin up short for all you can
comin up short
wouldnt want to stop it even if I could...
memory day
what have I done
no good can come of this
shake your skinny fist
you know you are
then talk about a broken wrist
you know you are
look now like you know we are
at a hope in hell
watching you sleeping
a mirror searching for itself
coming up short for all you can
coming up short
wouldnt want to stop it even if I could
no good can come of this
shake your skinny fist
you know you are
then talk about a broken wrist
you know you are
look now like you know we are
at a hope in hell

Candy's Eyes
04:24
|
|||
Under the cover of darkness
and under some persuasive local brew
you swore you'd give your hand to no one
but you know that you know you will
you know you know you will
I saw you down in your garden
sining "something going on around here"
your hands are steady as those harrowing notes
escape the prison of your throat
it comes as no surprise
little candy's eyes
theirs someone to despise
in little candy's eyes
a ghost looking for life
in little candy's eyes
I should have stayed away from you
instead I made a play for you
oh what a silly thing to do
The pitch and roll of you fancy
a rumble that no one could hope to cure
said one of us will loss this battle
but you know I know we both could
so I guess it's just no good..
and I dont know why I can't leave here
guess a caged shark just loses his will
Its comes as no surprise
little candy's eyes
theirs someone to despise
in little Candy's eyes
I should have stayed away from you
instead I made a play for you
oh what a silly thing to do

Towards The Sky
04:39
|
|||
Walking through rusted leaves
I've got two dollars and my broken machine
used to be my one defense
but it seems I got the circuit wet
cause the light wont turn on
come in a clear lake town
all the shops have got their shutters down
far too late to get spare parts
so I lay down by a coffee cart
but my sleep will not come
So I turn toward the sky
how long will the stars survive
will they survive
hurriedly I am on my feet
before the sun has rose complete
but an early bird is not alone
the flock have come to pick my bones
all hell will break loose
round the corner run for the park
where I am killed there by a passing car
all the people they rush to see
my blood my bone and circuitry
"why did you run, we meant you no harm"
So I turn towards the sky
how long will the stars survive
will they survive.

Michael Mooney Montréal, Québec
"Michael Mooney manages to echo Brian Wilson, The Beatles at their most psychedelic and Radiohead, all the while carving his
own sonic identity amongst those apparent influences. [...] The four songs (and interlude) that make up Another World’s Sun are uniformly fantastic, leaving us eager to hear what’s next for this guy." ****
